Here was another Club slam. Prabhakaran-Venky had a slightly more scientific way about it. Note Prabhakaran's forcing Pass in this context. They were aided by the fact that the interference was to the four level. Venky could be almost sure that Prabhakaran held a Spade void. In the Close Room, the interference was up to 3 level. Ashok's 5♣ was more of a middle-of-the-road bid rather than an informative o­ne. A pass of 3♠ would not have been forcing after a 1♣ opening, which could be much weaker than a strong 2♣ opening so Ashok did not have that choice. JM did not have enough reason to raise 5♣. This time we lost the full slam Swing.
